In this technological age with so much information available at our fingertips, it’s important to have reliable sources. But who can you trust? There is plenty of misinformation and fake news in circulation; many journalists seem to peddle opinion, speculation and even sometimes propaganda, rather than actually reporting facts. We need to be extremely discerning and thorough in our research if we are to get to the truth.
It’s one thing to have trust issues when it comes to the media and everyday events in our world. But what about the deeper things? We should be even more concerned to know the truth about ourselves, our Creator, and our eternal destiny. And there is plenty of misinformation and false teaching about those matters, so we do need to be discerning.
The only One who is completely trustworthy is God Himself, and He has given us the One reliable source of truth: His Word. Psalm 119:137,138 says, “You are righteous, Lord, and your laws are right.
The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy.” Numbers 23:19 puts is as follows, “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil?”

Jesus said of Himself, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6) In Christ, we see Truth embodied. He Himself is the way to a right relationship with God; when we put our trust in Him, He does not mislead us.
So if you want truth, go directly to the source. Look to the Word, and see how accurately it describes the human condition, and how so much of it has been fulfilled in history. And most of all, trust in the God who has revealed Himself to us in the Person and Work of His Son Jesus Christ, the fully trustworthy Saviour.
